Hoot & Holler is an intercom format which allows communication from one-to-many or even many-to-many.  Hoot & Holler configurations are commonly used in industries where information between users is time critical and needs to be evenly dispersed.  A typical application would be the stock brokerage industry where breaking news must be delivered to multiple people simultaneously so that they can react to changing market conditions.  While at the same time allowing anyone receiving the message to reply to everyone listening with specific information that they may have.  So effectively Hoot & Holler is a bidirectional party line.  IP Hoot & Holler can be accomplished using Valcom VIP-801 (Networked Audio Port) and VIP-811 (Networked Station Port) units.
