Step 1 - Select A Page Control
Page Controls are the "Brain" of the system, much like the CPU (Central
Processing Unit) of a computer system and are specifically designed for
telephone system integration. The Page Control Unit will be the device that
provides connection points for the system inputs and the speaker audio
outputs. All Page Control Units have a
Background Music input, as well as an All-Call feature for Multi-Zone Page
Control Units.
Easy
Selection Considerations:
- Number of Zones –
determine the number of paging zones you will have. A paging zone is a
speaker or group of speakers that you want to page to separately from the
rest of the system. Page Control Units have capability for supporting 1, 3, 6, 9
or 24 zones (expandable up to 96
in
24 zone increments).
- One-Way or Talkback/Intercom Paging
- Special
Features – Night
Ring and Time Clock
tones, Override Page, Group Paging, Feedback Elimination.
- Telephone
Access Method/Port – Determine what your access
method will be
- a loop start trunk port (FXO)
- a station port (FXS)
- a 600 ohm page port. (Some multi-zone
units will require an associated dry
contact closure pair along with the page port audio pair).
- a stand alone single
line telephone set.
Each Page Control Unit can support up
to 150 Valcom one-way amplified speakers on the audio output with the
exception of the V-2924A, which will
accommodate 40 speakers. Additional speakers may be added to a zone by using
a V-1094A. Each V-1094A allows the addition of 150 more
amplified speakers to that zone.
