We have an immediate opening for a Test Technician. This position tests and troubleshoots printed circuit boards and related components. Responsibilities include assembling computer components, installing operating systems and software, and diagnosing and repairing hardware and software issues.
We are seeking candidates who have previous experience working with virtual machines and electronics, who have proficiency in installing and configuring Linux and Windows operating systems with strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills, possess strong attention to detail, with the ability to work cooperatively with team members and achieve common goals.
This is a non-exempt, full-time, benefitted position. The starting pay is 20.50 per hour. Summary of the Position
The Test Technician is responsible for testing and troubleshooting printed circuit boards and related components. This includes assembling computer systems, installing operating systems, and software, diagnosing and repairing hardware and software issues.
Essential Functions

- Assemble computer components, including system boards, memory, hard drives, and power supplies.
- Install and configure operating systems (Linux and Windows) and application software. Manage software license installation and activation.
- Set up and work with virtual machines as required for testing purposes.
- Perform basic IP networking tasks.
- Identify and troubleshoot hardware and software issues on printed circuit boards and other related systems.
- Locate, interpret, and analyze system logs to assist in diagnosing issues.
- Run diagnostic routines to evaluate system performance and identify faults.
- Perform system backup and restore operations to ensure data integrity and recovery.
- Performs duties within quality and safety guidelines.
- Performs other duties as needed to successfully fulfill the functions of the position.
Required Skills/Abilities
- Experience with computer hardware assembly and system testing.
- Read & comprehend written instructions and electronic schematics
- Proficiency in installing and configuring Linux and windows operating systems; familiarity with Linux command line and basic IP networking.
- Experience working with virtual machines.
- Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills.
- Attention to detail and the ability to work independently.
- Thoroughness in completing tasks, ensuring accuracy and precision while timely completing work.
- Willingness to adapt to changing priorities and instructions from supervisors.
- Work cooperatively with team members and supervisors to build positive relationships and achieve common goals.
- Proper use and maintenance of safety gear and equipment, and adherence to safety policies.
Work Environment/Physical Demands/Travel
This job operates in a manufacturing environment with some exposure to temperature fluctuations and low to moderate noise. Use of standard office equipment, such as computers. Must have the ability to stand for approximately five hours per day and sit the other five; perform limb rotation to bend and turn in the assembly of products; lift up to 15lbs.; possess manual dexterity or using hand tools and performing tests; visual acuity to read detailed instructions and perform quality checks; mobility to move between workstations and transport small components as well as traverse a large manufacturing facility; ability to communicate information and ideas so others will understand; and the ability to observe details at close range.
